This is the WineSys project page.

The web page contains general information about the project as well as a blog written by the project participants. The blog is divided into two categories: “science” and “off-topic”.

The goal of the WineSys project is to optimize carbon/nitrogen consumption and by-product generation of yeast strains used to produce wine. This is to be done in a GMO-free manner using high throughput directed evolution. As the measurement of all the industrially relevant traits is practically infeasible, we will employ constraint-based reconstruction and analysis (COBRA) combined with various omics data to computationally predict the yeast phenotypes.
